Denise delivered the paper, The Journeys of Remittances from Hong Kong to Indonesia and the Philippines, at the International Metropolis Conference in Sydney, Australia.
Denise and her team hosted a meeting in Bangkok, Thailand with government, academic, industry, and NGO representatives from Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand to share findings from their CIHR-funded research project, Intersections of Gender, Work, and Health: Migrant Beer Sellers in Southeast Asia.
Dr. Spitzer was invited to participate in the United Nations Experts’ Group on the Family where she shared a paper on family migration policies and social integration.
